Fair enough, and there is a level at which it becomes unreasonable.
however, a single easy to parse format would be highly desirable.
i don't particularly claim to know definitively what that format should
be but i do know that the current one isn't great.

Please recall that (for better or worse) not everyone is as
good a programmer nor as familiar with the vos code as you are.
the counterargument that therefore, you are the one who has to live with
it more than anyone else is certainly valid, as would be one telling me
to stuff a sock in it until i'm ready to take over the maintenance ;)
