[OpenAFS] Help with linux openafs kernel compile

I ran the ./confugre as:

% ./configure --with-afs-sysname=ppc_linux24
--with-linux-kernel-headers=/usr/src/linux --enable-transarc-paths

and then did a 
% make
% make dest

I am wondering if that takes care of the kernel modules portion.  I know
I need a kernel with afs suport.  Dose making and make dest take care of
that in the /usr/src/modules/openafs source?  

I don't fully understand the /usr/src/modules/openafs is used for if not
for kernel modules.
