Hi,
I have a very annoying problem in upgrading my afs-server.
It's running quite nice with linux-2.4.22-AC4 and openafs-1.2.8 .
I've tried several times to upgrade to linux-2.4.23-pre8/9 and
openafs-1.2.10 but it always fails with an error message
Can't mount AFS on /afs(22)
and then lots of
Lost contact with volume location server ....
Before reinstalling I have done
/bin/rm -rf /etc/sysconfig/afs /usr/afs /usr/etc/openafs
/bin/rm -rf /usr/include/afs /usr/lib/afs /usr/lib/libafs*
/bin/rm -rf /usr/sbin/afsd /usr/vice
I have kept the partitions /vicepa /vicepb and /vicepc though.
Any help is very much appreciated,
Helmut Jarausch
P.S. We had stability problems (especially when running an OpenGL
application) with smp kernels upto 2.4.23-pre7. The recent 2.4.23-pre8/9
are looking promising.
