IBM 3.6 patch 3.  I tried the salvager from the
latest OpenAFS (redhat 7.1 rpms as I recall) with
the same results.

We are in the process of upgrading to redhat 9 and
openafs 1.2.10 on the machines, partly so we can use
ext3 and (hopefully) not be so vulnerable to machine
crashes.  Hurricane Isabel caused us some trouble...
