[OpenAFS] client for tru64 v5.1

I've downloaded and installed the openAFS client for tru64 5.0 from the 
openafs.org website.  Only problem is that I have 5.1 installed on my 
machine and when trying to start afs it core dumps.  I've followed both 
sets of instructions (including the "build afs into the kernel") with no 
successful outcome.  Does anyone have any insight into getting AFS running 
my tru64 5.1 box?

Here's the error output:

# /sbin/init.d/afs start
Starting afsd
/sbin/init.d/afs: 17641 Bad system call - core dumped
