I have gone through the registry file and also the registry on my
machine and cannot find where the info for mapped drives in the AFS
client is stored. If I want to push out a policy that configures the
AFS client to map M to \AFS\acme\usr\bob, can this be done through the
registry or some other way without going through the GUI? I know it can
be done using a bat file like Matt mentions below but then I run into
the same problem he does, is the service running first. I do not want
to have to touch each machine to make this happen.

Any help is appreciated.

These are set via the Registry. =20
Read the registry file associated with the release.

A
settings file to modify perhaps? I would prefer to be able to do
this
using a group policy instead of configuring each machine
separately.=20

If you want a drive mapped as a service, please configure the
drive=20
mapping using
the AFS Global Drive Maps which can be configured via the AFS
Client=20
Control
Panel.=20
=09
The 1.3.xx AFS Server is careful to not start until all of its=20
dependencies have started
so your .BAT file is most likely running before the AFS Client
Service=20
has started.

How does one ensure that the AFS client is running
before we map the
=20
drives?
=20
The way our system is setup is that a bat file runs a
service routine
that maps a drive. The domain controller is responsible
for mapping
the users drives accordingly using the net use command.
The way we
have this setup works on the 1.2.x client but we have
been
unsuccessful with the 1.3.x clients.

Error 55 is Device does not exist.
Sounds like your AFS Client Service is not
running at the time you
attempt to perform the
drive mapping.

Hi:
=09
I am using the newest windows client of
OpenAFS v 1.3.65.00 and I am
having issues with mapping network
drives with windows 2000.
The first login after a reboot will fail
to map all of the network
drives. After a user logs out and logs
back in, the mapped network
drives appear as they should.
=09
When we login to the domain controller,
we get mappings to get the
=20
AFS drives.

This is the error log from the event
viewer. Can anyone please give
feedback on any possible solutions or
work-arounds.
