[OpenAFS] Bos: communication failed???

I'm building a new kerberized cell, but I can't follow the simple steps 
shown in the documentation.

I emerged (gentoo linux, kernel 2.4.23) openafs, and so I found the 
modules into /etc/afs/modload

I copied the ``-sp'' module (renaming it) into
/lib/modules/2.4.23/kernel/fs/afs/afs.o

I have the partition as shown in the docs:
plmcvs bin # mount
[...]
/dev/hda8 on /vicepa type ext3 (rw)
plmcvs bin # cat /etc/fstab
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
[...]
/dev/hda8     /vicepa     ext3     defaults     0 2
[...]

I loaded the module without problems
plmcvs root # modprobe -vvvvv afs

Ok, kernel tainted but I don't care. The next step is impossible:

As you can see, I have afs module loaded... I don't know, maybe I did 
not follow some steps... Can you help me?
