The startup dependencies are now being set in the 1.3.61
installer. They are specified in the NetworkProvider key
of the service. DependOnGroup or DependOnService.
A service can only be dependent on a service. Since the
Explorer.exe process is not a service you cannot depend
on it.
afscreds.exe -A in 1.3.61 will auto-start the service if it has
stopped.
If you do not try to use Integrated Logon, then you should
not be seeing any OpenAFS messages at logon time.
