[OpenAFS] FW: afs_syscall - problem!

You wrote earlier that you create the /vicepa partition using:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/var/lib/openafs/vicepa bs=1024k count=32
mke2fs /var/lib/openafs/vicepa
mkdir /vicepa
mount -oloop /var/lib/openafs/vicepa /vicepa

Now, given that you are using dd to create an empty file, that you then build
a filesystem on, and then you use a loopback mount...  Well, that file remains
after a reboot, right?  So, during the boot you just issue the loopback mount
command again, once again mounting the file as the /vicepa filesystem, and
you should not have to recreate anything (since the content of the file remains
valid, if it is sync'd properly during the shutdown).

If you recreate the backing file for /vicepa at every reboot, you would have
to recreate (or restore) the root.afs volume, and ensure that it is online
before starting the client portion of AFS, or else it definitely will not be
able to mount AFS.
