[OpenAFS] 1.3.74 on AMD64

has anyone been able to get this working on dual AMD Opteron 64's.  I've 
been able to compile the source without a hitch, but within seconds of 
starting up afsd, the machine goes into a kernel panic which results in 
the machine needing to be powercycled.  Machine specs are as followed:  
Sun V20z dual AMD Opteron 64's running RedHat WS version release 3.  
Using openafs 1.3.74.
