The unknown symbol is audit_putname.

SuSE has a libafs build tree under /usr/src/linux.

By rebuilding the kernel as described in previous e-mails, the problem goes
away. Openafs 1.3.81 will not compile here using the #undef
CONFIG_AUDITSYSCALL in include/linux/autoconf.h.

New kernels are not a bg deal but the SuSe YOU automatic updates need to be
turned to manual since SuSe will slip a new kernel in occasionally.

The missing symbol is usually mentioned in /var/log/messages.
