[OpenAFS] Temporary loss of access ?

Have you rebooted this system since you set up your original cell?  If
not, you may be running into Debian Bug#88906, which has been around for a
very long time but which no one has ever really figured out.  The good
news is that simply rebooting the system seems to make it go away
permanently.
