> The -force flag removes a volume even if it cannot be "attached" (brought
> online), which can happen either because the volume is extremely damaged or
> because the Salvager functioned abnormally. Without this flag, this command
> cannot remove volumes that are not attachable. See also the Cautions section.

Already tried that:

wchow@hippo:/afs/acr/datafiles/2004 $ vos examine datafiles.20040102
VLDB: no such entry
wchow@hippo:/afs/acr/datafiles/2004 $ vos listvol hippo /vicepb | grep
20040102
datafiles.20040102 536937070 RW 5688181 K Off-line
wchow@hippo:/afs/acr/datafiles/2004 $ vos help zap
vos zap: delete the volume, don't bother with VLDB
Usage: vos zap -server <machine name> -partition <partition name> -id
<volume ID> [-force] [-backup] [-cell <cell name>] [-noauth]

Where: -force force deletion of bad volumes
-backup also delete backup volume if one is found
       -noauth don't authenticate
       -localauth use server tickets
       -verbose verbose
       -encrypt encrypt commands
wchow@hippo:/afs/acr/datafiles/2004$ vos zap hippo /vicepb datafiles.20040102 -force
VLDB: no such entry
wchow@hippo:/afs/acr/datafiles/2004 $ vos listvol hippo /vicepb | grep 20040102
