Only if you use 1.3.8x or 1.4.x fileservers and clients you are able to
handle files >2GB.
On windows the client can handle big files, but the samba on which
OpenAFS works doesn't handle files >2 GB....

I think there shouldn't be any problem, if the fs on which the
partitions are are able to handle files >2 GB.
