[OpenAFS] bos setcellname

Hi All.

I am trying to setup openafs on my linux box but am finding
it more difficult that expected as the documents seem to
be outdated (maybe) ..or maybe just nothing has changed since 2001.

Anyway;

#bos setcellname -server myservername -name mycellname -noauth

Gives me:
bos: could not find entry (can't find cell '<default>' in cell database)

I am not sure what this database is exactly. Is there someway to check it
actually exists and can be connected to? or is it just a flat file
somewhere?
