There is no Active Directory server in the system, only LDAP 
server. It is nice if Samba can be the KDC. Heimdal KDC seems to 
support having LDAP as backend, so that probably work as well.

Correction: "not *only* an authentication service". :-) LDAP can 
be an effective and secure authentication service, like how the 
linux machines here do it.
