We are running a adm servers/clients built against 1.4.x libraries, and I 
can put the source somewhere, but I can't claim it will be useful to 
anyone. We went down the path of building heimdal/krb4 against openssl a 
few years ago and the configure script has grown lots of warts related to 
that
