Just a quick question:
What makes a vos dump so slow?
I've got two "fast" machines connected via a GBit ethernet switch.
One is AFS fileserver, the other is a storeplace for vos dumps of volumes.
Both PCs are Linux 2.6.14+ and both has AFS versions 1.4.1 on debian.
I try to dump some 1-10GB volumes to the dump PC.
A iftop tells me speed on ether of 2-6 MB/sec while CPUs on both
machines are only used up to 40% (which includes the softraid load, vos
load, system load,...).
Is the reading and writing of the file from and to a harddisk so slow?
Any chance of speading this up?
