[OpenAFS] strange behaviour of k_hasafs/afs_syscall on kernel 2.6.17

Hello,

I observed that on a 2.6.17 kernel without smp k_hasafs (kerberos4) does =
not
work, strace gives me

afs_syscall(0x14, 0, 0x400c5603, 0xafa21d90, 0) =3D -1 ENOSYS (Function n=
ot=20
implemented)

But with smp enabled it works! Can somebody explain this?

I'm using kernel 2.6.17.1 from kernel.org and openafs/kerberos debian pac=
kages
from sarge/etch.
