Yeah, the only reason why we released with 1.3 is because the alternative
was 1.2.13, which didn't work with 2.6 kernels at all.  Since 2.6 was the
supported and even recommended kernel with sarge to a degree, that didn't
seem like a good idea.  But 1.4.1 is definitely better than 1.3, and as a
backport it doesn't depend on anything else.

1.3 mostly works okay with the default kernels that come with sarge, but
it was just the best of a bad set of options at the time.
