If you are talking about raw throughput or transactions per second or
the ability to handle network requests that take longer than 45 seconds
(the CIFS timeout) to complete, YES!!!

That doesn't mean that other improvements aren't worthwhile. If that was
the case I would have stopped improving the Windows cache manager a long
time ago.

Everything on the roadmap/wishlist needs to be completed.
