[OpenAFS] Speeding up Salvage

I have 4 1TB volumes spread across 4 volume servers.    Is there any way
to speed up salvage?  My afs.home RW volume server takes over 3hrs to
salvage.

I'm monitoring /usr/afs/logs/SalvageLog.0 to get an idea on progress..
is there a more accurate way?

Also do you have your bos server automatically running restart on a
weekly basis?  I'm looking to minimize downtime.  Would splitting up my
/vicepa to smaller

Partitions speed up the salvage process?
