[OpenAFS] unable to login via klog

[root@bri6506-5-l2-l-4 etc]# klog admin
Password:
Unable to authenticate to AFS because password was incorrect.
[root@bri6506-5-l2-l-4 etc]# klog admin
Password:
Unable to authenticate to AFS because user doesn't exist.
[root@bri6506-5-l2-l-4 etc]#

if i supply my password incorrect it prompts it, however, when i give the
right pwd, it does not allow me to login.
i am unable to get over this. any pointers?
