AFS supports read-only replicas. This is the main gotcha
most people experience. If you are willing to write changes
into the r/w volume and then run a command to release these
changes to the replicas, you will be fine. 

AFS does not do read/write replicas. Many people seem
to get confused by what exactly AFS replication does
and think that it does read/write replication.
