Yes and no.

In AFS storage space is organized in units that are called =22volumes=22.=
 The
volumes are hosted by one or several servers and mounted somewhere in the=
=20
/afs/<yourcell>/.... hierarchy.=20
For the client it does not matter at all, where a volume is located and
therefore one could argue that you could use those 100 workstations as se=
rvers
and get a overall capacity of 500 GB in your /afs hierarchy.

But you won't get a contiguous file space where you could store a 500 GB =
file.=20
In your case the maximum file size is limited by the size of the correspo=
nding=20
volume, which is limited by the partition size of the server.=20
Was this explanation understandable? Right now I don't know how to explai=
n it=20
better...

And aside from the above, it is not really desireable to have that many=20
servers that all need to be managed.
