it's a good idea to make some practice volumes and run through 
"emergency" scenarios with the volumes, so that you can use the 
appropriate commands in a non-pressure situation, and learn what they 
do. not that there's anything wrong with learning in a real emergency...8-)

other ones that you really want to understand before using in a "real" 
situation: vos syncserv and vos syncvldb. once you understand these 
commands, it's obvious how to use them. so...beginners, go ahead and 
practice, practice, practice.
