Dear Stephan/Derrick/Jason

Thankyou very much for all your assistance .I was using scientific linux
rpms but the kernel module which
i had downloaded created all these problems .The scientic linux i was using
had kernel with .smp as an
extension however the kernel which i was using was without .smp extension
.on downloading and extracting
the correct kernel module the server started working properly.

Now all my servers and client machines are working properly

thanks again
gaurav gunjan
