I have in fact compiled and run bosserver 1.4.7 with an old libafs.ko I 
had laying aroung.  My new libafs.ko has some missing symbols 
(_vnode_lock) that I am trying to fix right now.

We'll see.  But chances are I will probably end up with a new OS to learn.
