We solved our own problem.  The difference is, production AFS is version
1.4.4 while test system is up to 1.4.11, so we passed the critical version
where kmod needed a different format for the ioctl.

So, we now need the patch to Samba that's talked about here:

We only needed to apply the part that changes afs_syscall(), though.

So, it's working now.  Thanks anyway!
