Do you need to use -setpag to obtain a new PAG? From the shell, using
'pagsh' is a much more reliable way of getting a PAG, but gives you a
PAG in a new shell, not your calling process.

Note that this in some cases relies on dangerous and tricky
manipulations of kernel records and will not work on all platforms or
   with all Linux kernels.

It's probably broken in new Linux versions, which doesn't seem
surprising. Even when -setpag did work, it involved ugly hacks; even
more so than PAGs themselves.
