Okay, one last thing to try to make sure we're looking at the right
configuration file: what does 'ls -l /etc/pam.d/system-auth*' give you?

And since sudo gives you pam_afs_session debug messages, what's in
/etc/pam.d/sudo ?

What linux distribution is this?
