It's due to the salvager probing the DAFS-ness of the fileserver for a
sanity check; you see those messages because it does it via a rather
not-intended-to-be-used-this-way mechanism.

It will be fixed, but in the meantime, the issue is purely cosmetic. The
messages maybe sound a bit scary, but that's because usually when that
situation occurs, the caller will immediately exit or disable fssync.
But that's clearly not the case here, since the salvager continues to
function normally.
