If you want something per-volume, what the others said works. But I also
know some places have had success with HA for whole servers (in pairs),
which isn't too hard to do. All you need is shared storage for the
/vicepX data and /usr/afs/local, and some kind of clustering package or
heartbeat thing to just turn on the server on the right node. SAN is
probably the most likely way to achieve the storage these days, but drbd
works fine, too (and probably any block-level synchronization will work
just as well).
