You're probably not going to find a drop-in replacement for depot.  If
you're using puppet, you should consider creating packages of your
software, and let puppet manage the packages.  Puppet could also just
run depot for you, but Puppet has better native understanding of
packages.

Of course, this is a pretty significant change in workflow.
