[OpenAFS-win32-devel] Slow Windows logins with AFS installed

Interestingly, we ran into a similar problem that our windows
folks believed was related to the openafs client.

the other day they finally did a systematic test and determined
that even after uninstalling openafs it still stalled.

Eventually they tracked it down to the "windows image acquisition"
service, which supports scanners and direct connection of digital
cameras. Disable that and boot goes at normal speed.

It may in fact be related to openafs, somehow (perhaps the uninstaller
leaves something behind?), but in our case it was an easy choice
to get rid of this image acquisition thing.
