[OpenAFS-port-darwin] 10.4.11 troubles

I'm on 10.4.11, just installed OpenAFS-1.5.30-Tiger, and get a kernel panic
instantly upon AFS startup
org.openafs.filesystems.afs(1.5.30)@0x3b027000

It was necessary to safe boot and rename
/Library/StartupItems/OpenAFS/OpenAFS in order to get
past this problem.
