Actually, reiserfs works great with 2.2.x because they included the fallback
search code, but make sure it is it's own partition or else it will be dog
slow. (If it is it's own partition it is quite fast.)
On 2.4.x, they removed the fallback search code, so it hard fails instead of
innefficient-fails.

It is not currently possible to use reiserfs as the client cache
partition on AFS. I think a lot of us thought it would work fine for
vice partitions but I don't know anyone who has tried it.
No one has reported success or failure with jfs. I believe people
have reported success with xfs. Ext3 should work fine.
