[OpenAFS-devel] Unable to authenticate

I am using rh7.0 kernel 2.4.1-pre8 on a smp machine, after setting
everything up according to IBM documentation, after reboot I issue klog
admin, and give my password I get:

Unable to authenticate to AFS because no such entry

this isn't my first OpenAFS server, I have also built one on rh7.0 kernel
2.4.0 with a single processor and it worked fine.  They have the same
password but I noticed their checksum's were different.  Any solutions on
what could be causing this.
