[OpenAFS-devel] Win2K Installation Problems

Hi all,

I've just tried installing the complete 1.04a kit on Win2K - including the
server. Installation is fine, but when the AFS config wizard runs it
immediately dies complaining that the client version is incompatible with
the server (requires >= 3.5). You can fix this by changing the client
version info in the registry and running the wizard again.

The last step of the installation also had problems. When the wizard tries
to set the ACLs on the root volume it has to map a drive to do it. The
wizard complained that it couldn't map a drive properly, despite the logfile
showing that it was attempting to do the right thing. Don't really know the
cause of this, but I'm wondering if it was because the machine name was afs1
and I seem to remember a previous post about machine names containing afs
causing problems.

One final niggle is to do with the account manager. It works fine the first
time it's run, but after that I seem to need to run TaAfsAdmSvr.exe by hand
first before the account manager will fire up.

Nothing too serious here really, but it would be nice to get it fixed.

Cheers,
	Dave

PS - Server is running on Win2K Server SP2
