Well, the bad part is we (here at least) are not entirely sure what the
customers want, and if we asked, I'd bet like so much else we'd get
both sides, with each side trying to out-scream the other.

Not mount points for other cells (AFSDB discovery) but extra mount points
for other cells (rw mount points). "What's the difference between
/afs/andrew.cmu.edu and /afs/.andrew.cmu.edu?" Except it would be for
every cell. We by default mount people's backup volumes as "OldFiles" in
their home directory, and that's another fun one, ("I'm trying to reduce
my quota usage and...") but that's out of scope other than as a way to
explain the confusion.
