[OpenAFS-devel] Partition problem on Apple Xserve

I guess someone thought this was a good idea once upon a time because
if your /vicepX does not get mounted for some reason you don't want to
create stuff in the root file system. Another way to solve this
problem is to create some cookie in the partition the first time it is
used which tells the fileserver that "This is /vicepX of server with
sysid YY and the format is namei/inode/whatever"(1).

Of course then the next question is: Should all /vicepX and /vicepYZ
be assimilated automatically or should you first be forced to create
such a cookie maually to enable it as a AFS file server partition? I
tend to vote for the later.

Should there be the possibility to specify a list of directories to
be used as file server partitions instead of /vicep*?
