You are probably the first person with that combination.

And what would that be? I/O error?

I suggest you really make sure to have a kernel source tree that
matches your running kernel. If this is not the case, the weiredest
things can happen. Just to rule out the most basic things.

Then you can try Arla, too. Arla can be configured with lwp or
pthreads. Have a look at the options to ./configure.
