i agree.  afs should check to make sure your request is reasonable.
send this to openafs-bugs@openafs.org and suggest that someone make
afs not try to use more than a 'reasonable' percentage of available
memory.

how much memory do you have in this machine?  58M doesnt seem like
too much.
