FWIW, I have a similar but not identical setup and am also seeing
something very similar to this. Mine is 1.3.79 on kernel 2.6.10 on a
2004.3 Gentoo system current with portage. I noticed it before I
noticed this post and haven't debugged, but the new server seems to be
performing generally as expected, so I'm not sure that I'm seeing any
real meaningful impact but the invalid pointer message has me a bit
concerned.

aphrodite bin # ldd /usr/afs/bin/bosserver
        linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
        libresolv.so.2 => /lib/libresolv.so.2 (0xb7fb3000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0xb7ea0000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7feb000)
aphrodite bin # ls -l /lib/tls/libc.so.6
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 13 Feb 23 21:30 /lib/tls/libc.so.6 ->
libc-2.3.4.so
