you might try 'fs exam ..'  and after that perhaps 'cmdebug localhost 7001
-long' and try to locate your vnode in there to see its state.
what client are you using btw?

ip acl's dont take effect immediately as i recall.  this might
resolve itself eventually.  did you have system:administrators
tokens?
