[OpenAFS-devel] What barriers prevent people from testing 1.5.x on non-production machines?

Inspired by the recent thread between Marc & Derrick, I would like to
discuss what barriers (besides lack of time) exist that discourage
people from testing 1.5.x released on Unix platforms running on
non-production machines?

What improvements have been made? what still needs to be done?

Improvements:
* We have tinderbox test boxes that report compile errors now
* Barring the latest kernels, it compiles on Linux
* Simon has 1.5.X rpm releases

Room for improvement:
* where do we find prepackaged test releases in RPM, DEB, etc format?
* Need to have 1.5.x packages for more distros like debian and ubuntu
(Russ: I plan to work a little on the deb package for 1.5.60. I'll let
you know)

Any other ideas?

How do we help to make things easier to test?

Thanks,
Jason
