Or even worse, the install location of /opt/SUNWspro/ for it.

See the result of find . -type f | xargs grep 'SUNWspro'

You probably have to write some more stuff in acinclude.m4 and rebuild
confgure. Then the question is which param file is chosen (of all the
ones in src/config).

To start with, that depends if your derivative still makes
./build-tools/config.guess to says its *solaris*. I don't think the
OpenAFS build system currently works with something that says its
solaris and gcc, independet of then the kernel module would work with
the kernel in question.
