=3D=3D 1.6.5.1 =3D=3D

Linux 3.12 is about a month away (marc successfully tested rc4+), and =
there's no point in waiting
for OS X Maverick either.=20

It was decided to include a last change, the fix for Linux kernels w/o =
keyring support from Christof
in gerrit 10331. This and the corresponding NEWS entry in 10332 were =
merged during the meeting, and
the resulting HEAD should become the final 1.6.5.1 release. 10331 is =
considered sufficiently simple
not to invalidate the many positive test results for the close-to-final =
tarballs from last week.

Stephan will ask Derrick for the tag and cut the final tarballs. We =
won't wait for binaries before
releasing. They can be added later once available. Providing AIX =
binaries would make sense.

=3D=3D 1.6.6 =3D=3D

All changes currently foreseen and ready for 1.6.6 were merged.

There is a suspicion that gerrit 10310 may be a cause of more frequent =
parallel build failures, even
if the change itself is correct. More statistics is needed and will be =
gathered in the next days. If
there's evidence that it does cause higher failure rates, 10310 will be =
backed out. This issue set
aside, 1.6.6pre1 can go out right after 1.6.5.1.

An alternative to 10310 is being worked on in 7921 on the master branch. =
If it does fix a problem, it could go into 1.6 too. It may well not be =
ready in time for 1.6.6 though.

=3D=3D Planning for a "next stable" branch =3D=3D

Jeffrey brings up that it's time to start working on a 1.9 branch (off =
master), to become the next
stable branch - 1.10 - within a couple of months.
