Highlights:
 * Changes for Linux 4.10 (current linux release).
 * Fix for current Debian/Ubuntu support.
 * Fixes from master/1.8.0pre1 to squash warnings on current release of gcc.
 * Fix to allow aklog to function on current s390/s390x (mainframe).
 * One group id PAGs on solaris to allow PAGs to work on current solaris.

Other changes being considered, if ready this week:
 * 12531  osx: do not build afscell for i386 on OS X 10.12+
          (to fix the macos build on the buildbot)
 * build system changes required for Oracle Developer Studio 12.5

== OpenAFS 1.8.0pre status ==

* Several reports have been filed to rt.central.org related
  to the 1.6.x -> 1.8.x upgrade process.
* Additional testing of the 1.8.0pre1 cache manager would be
  appreciated.

== Other News ==

* Ben has setup auto-renewing TLS certs, using LetEncrypt. Thank you Ben.
