Ben reports the recent abort serial number changes, and some potential thought
about splitting the StoreACL changes into separate client and server changes
could be targeted another pre-release or target to a later 1.8.1 release.

Other recent activity on gerrit is refreshing old commits in anticipation of
post-1.8.0.
